Kauia & Vegas -1st week Summer trip

July 6th – 12th, 2015

First few days of our Road Trip. We started in Kauai.

I was so afraid to visit this island again. Last time I was in Kauai, 4 years ago, was when I found out my brother had died. It was very traumatic.. and still is.

I could feel the tension every time we passed by the place I was when I received the news. I was able to transform this tension a few times until I couldn’t anymore. Daniel drove into the parking lot.. and my body started doing involuntary movements and I went right on the core of the trauma… it was hard.. again. I was re-living the intensity.. yet I could tell my mind “this is not happening right now — that happened, yes, and it was awful.. yet it’s not happening right now.. ”

After some intense anxiety, some tears and some talking, I was able to come out of it..

Chuy, I miss you. I wish you would not have left your body the way you did. I love you and I wish I could reverse this tragic event. My life has changed dramatically since you left. I’m not the same.. and not in a good way. Part of me left with you and even though I’m strong and I’m here and I love life..and I live in gratitude every day of my life,  I will never be the same. I cope in my grief..  deep inside. I am aware. I love you hermano.. I feel for you, for your pain, for your desperation, for your loneliness. I don’t know why I created this experience in my life.. This wound would not heal. It is a permanent wound.

Kauai was fun even though.. . Sunsets were magnificent. Playing with light, movement, my camera and Daniel was fun. We drank cocos, ate good food and bathe in the gorgeous ocean. We stayed at a motel with tourists that spoke other languages, kayaked on the river and found a gorgeous private spot to roll around with waves. It was a magic spot.. ocean and river coming together..

We took care of some business with the galleries and we had some fun…

Found the perfect little spot, a tiny beach with great waves and a little cold river flowing into it.What an unforgettable joyful experience this was. Perfect weather and gorgeous view of the Napali Coast. A highlight of the trip for sure. Yum!
