Camilla’s birth

A big part of this mainland trip was to support and mother my friend Maureen on one her biggest rites of passage: the birth of her daughter Camilla.

I wanted to be there for the birth date and support her through the process so I planned my trip accordingly to the “due” date.. yet Camilla had other plans. I was sad yet in total acceptance of divine order and God’s plan. Maureen went into induction the day before I arrived in San Francisco. She labored beautifully and gave birth vaginally and without medications (a super trouper!) to this wonderful being now named Camilla.

We stayed at Maureen’s home for about 19-20 days. We cooked for her, ran errands, clean and more. I’m forever grateful for this bonding experience with my friend. I had just graduated of Labor and Postpartum Doula so I had all the knowledge very fresh in my mind and heart. I learned a lot through this process though. Being there when the midwife visited was really rich for me. Assisting in every way I could, was so rich for me.

I love this woman so much! and I’m grateful to have shared this sacred time with her.

Good bye dinner

Maureen and Will invited us to an amazing restaurant in Marin. Even Carla and Marte came! We had a fantastic time and the food was exquisite. A great treat from our friends. Feeling blessed.
